Father’s Day 2018

This Father’s Day was one for the books. And not in a good way. We will hopefully be doing a re-do this weekend. We started off the day in chaos mode, trying to get to church early for Maverick’s dedication. After Mav’s dedication, we headed back to the house. We had a full house since my mom, stepdad, sister and my sister’s boyfriend all came for Mav’s birthday party and dedication weekend. Harlyn and Maverick are definitely creatures of habit, so the extra activity and people this weekend had them totally out of whack. Harlyn had a couple epic meltdowns and Mav decided not to nap, be happy, or go to bed in honor of Father’s Day. There were a few fun moments, like our water balloon fight (Mav and I supervised from a blanket in the grass) and giving B his gifts.

Because the day was a total mess and I didn’t get a chance to really say what I wanted to the amazing husband I have, I’m going to honor him today, two days late, and promise him a better weekend ahead if we can get these kids back on track!

B-You are the best Daddy to our kids. You make them laugh like no one else can. They can’t wait to see you…they invade your personal space every waking moment…they make you play with every single toy they own…but you don’t complain. You smile and toss them in the air. You aren’t just the type of dad that plays though. When the kids get up each day, it’s you getting their mornings started. Thank you for changing Mav’s diaper and getting the kids their vitamins and catering to their every AM need so I can do my hair and makeup in peace. Thank you for bedtime routines. Thank you for fun weekends together (well, usually). Thank you for caring for all of us—physically and emotionally. We are so lucky to have you. We love you so much! These babies of ours? They hit the jackpot. So did I.

Hope you all had a great weekend celebrating the special men in your lives!
