Christmas Gift Guide 2018: Toddler Boys

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas over here! Maybe not with our weather, but we’re decking the halls, sleeping in Christmas jammies, and drinking hot chocolate anyway.

That brings us to Christmas gifts. Sometimes, it seems like even though our kids are different genders and 3 years apart, we already have all the toys that our 1.5 year old boy could ever need. And our kids are too young to understand and appreciate “experience gifts” although I hope as they get older we can go that route!! So, I needed some fun boy toys for our little man to open on Christmas morning. Here’s my roundup!

  1.   Paw Patrol Ultimate Rescue Fire Truck

This fire truck technically says for ages 3+, but in our house, Maverick plays with stuff that is older than it says because he has a big sister. Obviously, we don’t let him play with Barbie shoes or other small items…but in general, as long as we’re confident there’s not a choking hazard, they share. Anyway. This truck is right up Mav’s alley. He loves playing with all trucks/cars/vehicles. And I think that most toddler boys do too…and what little boy doesn’t love Paw Patrol, lights, and sounds?

  1.   Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Servin’ Up Food Truck

If your kids are like ours, they play restaurant or house using their play kitchen A LOT. We thought it’d be fun to have something else to add to the mix. This food truck is so stinking cute, and I just know that any toddler would think this is really cool!

  1.   Merry Christmas, Little Pookie by Sandra Boynton

Do your toddlers just adore Sandra Boynton books?? Both of my kids think they are pretty funny. When I saw this book, I knew Maverick needed it! I’m a sucker for books of all types, but Christmas books? I can’t resist. Plus, I’m a big believer in reading to our kids, and this book is a good length for toddlers who can’t sit still for a long time.

  1.   LeapFrog My Pal Scout

This little dog is the cutest! Harlyn still has her “Violet” (purple version) —and keeps her in her bed to this day. You program this dog to know your kid’s name, favorite color, food, etc. And then the dog sings little songs and incorporates that info into some of the songs. Harlyn actually is requesting Scout from Santa on Maverick’s behalf—she strongly feels that Mav needs this cute pup!

  1.   Cabbage Patch Kids Holiday Helpers

I think we buy these little Cabbage Patch Kids more for our own nostalgia, but I don’t care. The holiday ones are adorable! And watching my toddler give a pretend baby a huge, slobbery kiss? That’s pretty cute too.

  1.   Clubhouse Fun Mickey

Anyone’s kid obsessed with Mickey? My little boy sure is! I think any toddler Mickey fan would think this toy is great. He’s soft, he sings Hot Diggity Dog, he lights up.

Okay, there you have it! My picks for boys age 1-3(ish!). What are you getting your boys for Christmas? Is there any hot ticket item that I need to know about?? Let me know in the comments!
