5 Must-Haves for Outdoor Workouts

Today, I’m comin’ atcha with some items that make outdoor workouts just a little easier!

Psst! This post contains affiliate links. This means that, at no cost to you, I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase.

Now that I’ve expanded my workouts from just running to working out once a week with the ladies of FiA, I’ve also expanded my “gear” necessities list. And of course, by “necessity” I’m talking about things that are nice to have…they are NOT actually necessary AT ALL.

If you want to read more about FiA, I wrote about that HERE.

So here’s my 5 must-haves!

1.Water bottle

But not just ANY water bottle. If you’re going to be running around outside, you need one that has the handle deal at the top so you can hook a couple fingers through and get moving. I personally believe in the stainless steel versions of ANY water cup/bottle (I HATE drinking room temp water..ick!) because the ice lasts forever. This Simple Modern water bottle is cute, comes in lots of colors ( but of course I chose pink), and holds plenty of H2O.

2. Foam roller

(I have the one in the link, but if you need an Amazon Prime option, HERE’S my pick.)

A foam roller will change your dang life. We have like, a hand roller thing, and that one doesn’t even come close to the foam roller. The Perfect Fitness foam roller helps sore muscles so much and honestly I don’t know how we spent the last year of our lives running and not owning one. Dramatic statement? Maybe, but I can’t explain the way it feels to roll your aching thighs.

3. Goodr Sunglasses

I feel like I’d be doing a disservice to everyone if I didn’t specify the brand on this one. You can’t just buy any ol’ sunglasses. I bought Goodr sunglasses a couple months ago and LOVE them for running and working out. They do not slide off my face, and I sweat A LOT. As someone who did not believe in running with glasses or sunglasses of any kind, I am now in full on support of the workout sunglasses–as long as they are Goodr. Actually, B recently bought some too!

4. Junk Brand Bands

Brandon and I have both recently been wearing the Junk Brand headbands. And here’s the amazing thing about them: my head is weirdly small. Brandon’s head is big. We can BOTH wear them and not have any issues with them falling off. I used to try really hard to wear bandanas, headbands, etc, but nothing has worked for me even half as well as the Junk Bands.

5. Exercise Mat

I decided to buy the “extra thick” mat, and I’m so glad I did! Yes, it’s just a bit bulky, but I love that I don’t feel the cement underneath me when I’m suffering through abs or arms.

So there you have it! My updated picks on workout stuff!
