I don’t know about you, but I had a fantastic Labor Day weekend!! First of all, Brandon and I took last Thursday and Friday off, creating a FIVE DAY WEEKEND. What!?!?
So, my sister Liv and her boyfriend Jason (or as Harlyn calls him, Jase) came down last Thursday from Michigan. They decided to rent a Camaro while they were here…which ended up being a SUPER FUN way to spend our Thursday and Friday. We dropped the kids off at school and daycare and went joyriding. 🙂 On Thursday morning we explored Bond Park and had lunch at La Farm Bakery, and literally just drove as much as we could to maximize our time cruising around with the top down. Friday we hiked through Umstead Park before a delicious and HUGE breakfast at Brigs.
Brandon and I love our kids–but man those carefree mornings and afternoons those days were LIVE GIVING. I mean, the weather was perfect, the music was playing, and we were basically all 18 again. Except you know, 30. And some of us have kids. 😉
Basically, what I am saying is, if you get the chance to play hooky from work and spend a couple hours kid-free, go get you a convertible.
Saturday, Liv and I headed to FiA for our 8 AM workout, and almost died trying to do said workout. She definitely saw how intense that hour is and I think she was impressed!! Sunday was church and relaxation day. The kids loved having Saturday and Sunday to play with Aunt LIvvie and Jason!
Then on Labor Day we had a family day! Liv and Jason came over about 7 am from their hotel so that we could all squeeze in a 4 mile run. My dad, stepmom, and my brother came over before lunch to see Liv and Jason and hang out. Then later in the afternoon, my mom and stepdad came over. It was a very relaxed and nice day!
The weather was beautiful ALL WEEKEND! It was so much fun getting to spend time with Liv and Jason, and watching them with our kids. Harlyn and Maverick were NOT ready to let them head home to Michigan. Harlyn was pretty upset when they left and is anxiously awaiting their return visit!
