Mav @ 10 Months

This boy is precious.  I mean, I know I am a bit biased, but seriously. He’s just awesome. He is goofy, happy, wild, and always into everything. He crawls, pulls himself up onto anything he possibly can, and thinks he is really something when he one-hands it. He also is very proud of himself for sipping from his cup (when does the novelty wear off?!?) and for the noise he makes when he repeatedly places his hand over this mouth (like that ah-wa-wa type sound).

Right now he is sleeping from about 6:30 PM to 6 AM. His naps are still a mystery—he takes 2-3 per day but they really range. Some naps are 20 minutes, some 40, and sometimes he will sleep 1-2 hours. He gets very tired in the evenings so it’s a total rush to do bath time before he just gets too fussy.

I am still breastfeeding/pumping at this point. He has pretty much given up on baby food, and we’re trying to introduce new foods all the time. He’s so picky though, so we just keep trying and hoping! He likes scrambled eggs and grilled cheese a lot ☺ He’ll eat YoBaby yogurt too, so there’s at least a few things we can get down him!!

Mav loves to play with his dump truck he got from Mimi and Papa for Christmas, and he also really likes the play kitchen/food. He loves to stand at the kitchen and hope that Harlyn will let him play with her, but she’s usually just being bossy and trying to take whatever he is using. We’re working on that. Other than that, you can find him making a beeline for the clothes drying rack or the blinds.

He is very excited about teeth brushing…and I know it won’t stay that way so I’m just enjoying it while it lasts! He likes taking baths but man he splashes a lot!!

He’s just a happy kid! He laughs a lot. He likes to be tickled. He thinks his sister is the best thing since sliced bread. He enjoys dancing around the kitchen while we hold him and listen to our jams.  He is a bit obsessed with me which I’m mostly okay with since he spent the first six months in his daddy’s arms (well, when I wasn’t nursing him). He cries if I leave the room, when he’s not feeling well, and definitely when he’s tired.

I can’t believe he’s already 10 months old. I love all the new things he’s learning and doing (I SWEAR sometimes he’s saying Mama, Dada, and More, but I can’t confirm it, so…) and watching him play with H, but with every new milestone I get just a little sad. Why do they grow up so fast?? I look at this boy and wonder how he can look more like a toddler than a baby when it feels like I just had him yesterday.

Ten months. Wow.
