I’m super excited to be partnering with Basic Invite for today’s post all about…CHRISTMAS CARDS!!
Honestly, I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with holiday cards. I love getting them, but getting around to actually getting a picture taken, finding a website to make them on, and then mailing them? Well, that’s where the “hate” part comes in. 😉 I am not even sure of the last time I sent out Christmas cards. Was it last year? Was it four years ago? No clue.
But this year, I made sure we all coordinated on Thanksgiving Day and had my mom take a picture of the four of us in front of their Christmas tree (we didn’t host this year!). I knew that the whole professional picture thing just wasn’t going to fit into our schedule, but I did want to have SOME picture of our little family just in case I got inspired to make a Christmas card to post on the blog and Insta.
And then came Basic Invite.
Basic Invite (basicinvite.com) is a card + invitation website that makes creating and sending your holiday cards stress-free. They also have cute stationery, business cards, and more! Basic Invite has some really cool features that make designing your Christmas card actually fun. First of all, you can take any of their designs and change every single color on it. Or if you just want to do it quickly, you can leave all the colors alone because they’re cute as is! Another neat feature is that you can order samples of whatever you’re ordering…whether you’re making vintage holiday cards, a company holiday party invitation, or a wedding invite. I ordered two different Christmas card samples, just because I couldn’t decide! And one other thing I don’t want to forget–they will print your recipient addresses on your envelopes for you. You can read more about that feature on their website.
The one thing I will say is that I wish that I’d either 1) had the professional pics taken 2) had my mom take a picture of us somewhere outside for better lighting or 3) made a card with a smaller picture area. The picture quality just isn’t what I wanted…and that’s because the original picture we took has a bit of blur from the less-than-perfect indoor lighting. Even still, the cards themselves look cute and festive.
There’s still time to get those holiday cards ordered and sent. Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51
You can find them on Instagram or Facebook
My favorite Christmas cards to receive are the ones with personalized messages or pictures of my friends and family. It’s always fun to read about or see how everyone has grown and changed in just one year!!
Do you send out Christmas cards every year?
